I am a member of MOPs, a great organization that brings moms together and enables us to encourage each other, laugh, and learn from one another.

Biography

I’m a full-time mommy, wife, and Crockin’ Girl! I have always loved the “small town life” since moving to the country when I was 11 years old. After moving from the DFW area to the small town of Paradise, Texas, there was no looking back on “the big city”. Nothing compares to the laid-back lifestyle in a small town!

After graduating high school, I moved to yet another place with “that hometown feel” in Stephenville, TX where I attended Tarleton State University. I obtained two very important things in my life during those four years: I earned my bachelors degree in Elementary Education and I met my future husband!

In 2006, I took on the title of “coach’s wife” when I joined the perfect team with my husband Stanton. I am his biggest fan both on and off the court and I love cheering him and his teams on throughout the school year. With the busy schedule that coaching entails, it is nice to use the slow cooker in order to have home-cooked meals cooking while we are at the game and not having to stop for fast food on the way home.

I am a mommy to two adorable children. My son was 2-years-old and my daughter was 4-months-old when this “Crockin Girls” journey began. Spencer is a “mama’s boy”, I am amazed by his creativity, personality, and ability to learn every day. He is often the one teaching me new things and showing me how to keep things fun. Our newest edition to the family is a beautiful baby girl, Stella, who absolutely melts me with her precious “dimple smile”! She is a laid-back cuddle bug who has her daddy (who are we kidding, pretty much EVERYONE) wrapped around her little finger.

My kiddos are part of the reason I love slow cooking so much ... it frees up time that I would normally have to spend in the kitchen and allows me to get down on the floor and play with them!

I am thankful every day to have so many blessings in my life!

Biography

Born and raised in Texas, I am not only a Texan, but also a small-town girl with a heart that loves what the city has to offer, except for traffic. I am happy to say that my life plan has gone exactly how I predicted.

After graduating high school, I went to college and met my wonderful husband, Kris, who is also my best friend and biggest supporter. After getting married, we moved back to my hometown and I often wondered what in the world is a young couple like us doing back here?

Since then, everything has just fallen into place. During the first five years of our marriage, we opened my own dance studio, built a home, and my husband bought an insurance company. Phew! We joke about how boring our lives would be if we didn’t have a project going on!

But between all of these important life projects, (which my husband and I love doing together!) we also had two beautiful children! They are our real true blessings. And although I was sick almost every day through both pregnancies, I wouldn’t change it for anything! After my daughter was born, I knew right then that God had given me exactly what I had asked for multiple times in my life: a wonderful husband, a healthy son, and now a beautiful baby girl. We were rockin’ in rollin’ in our lives as I tell my kids!

When I had mentioned to Jenna that we should set up a Facebook Community Page so that we could all share her awesome Monday recipes (and so that my husband wouldn’t have to pick up our kids from Jenna’s house after she finished babysitting them to come home to a frozen pizza!), we had no idea what was going to happen to change our lives even more! At the time of our Crockin’ Girls beginnings, my son was 5 years old and my daughter was 2.
What a “crockin” adventure this has been for us! But for me, it's the little things in life that make me happy. I love the summertime and being able to just hang out with my kids.

When I think of slow cooking, I think of the traditional pot roast that my mom always had cooking when we got home from church. I love being able to provide my family with home-cooked meals and the best way for me to get it all done is to use my slow cooker. There is nothing better than putting together a meal for your family and not have to stress about walking in the door and saying "What am I going to fix for dinner?"
