Tough pot roast…

I cook my pot roast on low for 9 hours and it still comes out tough. Am I not cooking it long enough? Too long? What gives?

I think it may have cooked too long. The bigger issue is that your slow cooker may cook hotter than you think. Try cutting down the cook time to compensate.

what cut of roast were you using? what did you cook with it?

It was a chuck roast. You know how Walmart has the white package and then the black packeage is supposed to be a better cut? I go the one in the black package. It was about 4.5 lbs.
