I love this recipe! Last night, I got really “creative” and served the bbq chicken in lettuce wraps and I used coleslaw as a “topping”. It was so yum!

I just learned of, and joined, Crockingirls and this was my first recipe (and first time I have ever used a slow cooker). Talk about easy and delicious – the kids (and I) loved it. I couldn’t believe it was 6:00 and a great dinner was 5 minutes away from being on the table. This definitely made the dinner rotation!!!

I’d say 8-12 servings, depending on the size of appetites you’re serving!

How many does this serve? I would like to make it for a family Christmas party.

This was so good and a crowd pleaseer! All 7 of my kids ate it! We had ours on hotdog buns and most if us ate them overstuffed with cheese on then then put under the broiler for a quick min will the cheese melted down….will make again for sure!

Talk about easy! I substituted 6 pheasant breasts for the chicken and they turned out great. Pheasant can tend to over cook easily & become dry, but this receipe left the bird moist & tasty. Will definitely make this again.

Holla, Denise! Next time there is too much liquid you can always add a slurry of cornstarch!

  19. Denise

My son’s and husband really liked the BBQ Sliders! I actually forgot to start it in the AM and my husband started it for me around noon. He put in tenderloins instead and put it on high for 4 hrs. Only he did not add enough chicken tenderloins and we had more sauce than chicken! You ladies have made my life easier and my guys happy!!! No more stressing about what to have for dinner! Thanks Crockin Girls! :D

Use your favorite sauce, Stephen. Sweet Baby Ray’s is our go-to BBQ sauce!

It was okay. Didn’t like the sauce. Might be better with Bullseye or something.

I don’t see why not, Ruth. You may not have to crock it as long so watch to make sure your chicken doesn’t dry out!

  23. Ruth

Can you do this recipes with chcken tenderloins?

Really good. My husband and I loved it. Will for sure make it again when we get together with friends to watch football.

Oh no, Bethany! We promise it’s not suppose to taste like that :/ If the bbq sauce was burned, then it crocked for too long. Like any other appliance, not all crocks cook the same. And it sounds like you’ve got a hot crock! Just don’t cook your food as long as a recipe calls for next time (maybe an hour or so less) and you should have much better results. Better crockin’ luck next time, girl!!!

  27. Bethany

This recipe was disgusting! Had it on lowest setting and BBQ sauce burnt. Bleck! Won’t be making this again.

I bet it was Roxie if everything else was the same. It’s not soupy at all with the sweet baby rays ;)

  29. Roxie

OK, used cream of onion soup and Cookie’s BBQ sauce. Flavor was wonderful, but it kind of looked like BBQ soup. Took the chicken breasts out of the “soup”, shredded them with a fork, then added about 1/2 of the “soup” to the mixture. Very moist and flavorful for a sandwich. Was it the Cookie’s that maybe was not as thick as Sweet Baby Ray’s?

  30. Roxie

Substituted cream of onion soup for the cream of mushroom……YUM! Thanks for this great recipe!

I made this tonight. Instead of adding the tomato, onion and lettuce… I added sharp cheddar cheese on lightly toasted Hawaiian Sweet bread. Yumm! Thanks for the great idea :-)

  32. RUTH

Totally rocked!! Put everything in the crock pot early in the morning and was ready for lunch after church. Served it on Warm Hawwaian Rolls and my kids Loved it!!! Thanks!

We use the 18 0z size of Sweet Baby Rays!

  34. Rhiannon

This sounds really easy and delicious. What size bbq sauce did you use? For some odd reason I have an 18 oz bottle and a 28oz bottle.

  35. Leann

Delicious and very easy to make! Used with regular buns instead of sliders to make them as the “main dish”

Tried this tonight – not only is it the easiest recipe to make, but it tastes absolutely delicious! I think I ended up cooking it for 7 hours, and it was perfect. Can’t wait to taste the leftovers tomorrow, which we’ll try with french fried onions on top :)

Adding the cream of chicken soup helps thicken the sauce. This makes it really yummy for BBQ sandwiches.

Kathy, you CAN use frozen chicken breasts! If the meat isn’t fully cooked it won’t shred easily. You may need to add an hour or so to your crockin’!

  46. Kathy

Planning on making this soon, but wondered is the chicken thawed or could you use frozen chicken breasts?

  47. Lisa T.

Had these tonight and they were a hit! I added another chicken breast but other than that I didn’t change a thing. I will definitely make this recipe again!
