Florentine style chicken with a twist...

Ingredients

  • 4-6 Chicken Breasts
  • 1 Pint Portabella Mushrooms
  • 1-6oz Package Spinach
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1/2 Package Zesty Italian Dry Dressing Mix (Good Seasons)
  • 1/2 Cup White Wine
  • 1/2 Cup Chicken Broth
  • 1/4 Cup Lemon Juice
  • 1 Package Pasta

Directions

  1. Step One

    Combine all ingredients in the crockpot and cook for about 6 hours. Serve over cooked pasta.

    *Note: Sauce may be thickened with flour.

    This is a great recipe! The video was helpful in putting together the recipe. I wasn’t “confused” at all. Adjust your cooking time to your own crockpot and the type of spinach used. Baby spinach leaves may cook faster then reqular spinach leaves, just try different things.

    ((On a side note, I believe their is a forum for those wishing to air their concerns, on the recipe blog it’s uncalled for))

    I didn’t care for this recipe. The issue was the spinach. I cooked mine for only 5 hours as my crock cooks hot; however, even so the spinach completely turned to mush. One possible solution might be to add the spinach during the last 30 minutes or so of cooking time, or just omit the spinach entirely and double the portabella mushrooms.

    Diane, sorry it did not turn out for you. Last time I made this, I added some heavy cream and parmesan cheese at the end to make it a cream sauce…very tasty.

    The video and the recipe are not comparable. I am an experienced cook and had to watch the video twice (it’s too fast) and read the ingredients. Not one mention in the video on how much butter to add and then in the instructions it says cook “about” 6 hours??? I’ve never seen that in a recipe in my life!!! Who cooks things in “about” time??? Not the same at all since the girls have left.

    The written recipe doesn’t reflect the video at all. It says to throw everything in and cook. No exception is made for the pasta. A less experienced cook could easily misunderstand. Please be more careful with your written directions. I’m making it tonight…hope it’s as good as it looks.

    Kim, you will need 1-2 tablespoons of the seasoning. Since you are using the bulk mix you can control how much you use.
