Has anyone tried this using espresso rather than regular brewed coffee?

I, surprisingly, wasn’t a big fan of this. It was way too sweet for me and I usually like my coffee drinks on the sweet side. Also, I feel like there was way too much of a straight up pumpkin taste to it than a pumpkin spice taste. I even checked the recipe a few times to make sure I hadn’t done something wrong. It seems like I’m the only one so far who wasn’t a big fan of it though so maybe it was just my particular taste buds that day. Love your website and love ALL of the other recipes I’ve tried!!

I was skeptical, but this recipe was amazing and super easy. It makes quite a lot, but is easily scaled down. My book club devoured it!!

Loved it!! As my husband says coffee is a life style for me…not sure what that means but I love coffee and I really enjoy pumpkin spice lattes as a treat from Starbucks. I have tried to duplicate the taste at home and to no avail…until now. Thank you so much for this wonderful recipie. I made it the other day and was over joyed.

Thanks for your question. I’ve not ever had enough left to freeze…lol. It should work just fine…let us know how it does so other people will know as well.

  9. Micah

I made this for a gathering and have some leftover. Has anyone tried freezing this and then “re-crocking” it??

  10. Marcy

I made this last night for my Halloween gathering. It was a hit! I did add the whole can of pumpkin for more pumpkiny flavor but otherwise it was delicious! A warm and creamy hit after trick-or-treating with the kiddos!!

I made a half batch for a test run tonight. I used unsweetened almond milk, and half brown sugar, half white sugar. It made six large cappuccino mugs full, with room for whipped cream, and was enjoyed by everyone.

We used a 5qt crock and it was pretty close to full! You can make it once you get to the school or use a larger crock so you don’t make a latte mess in your car!

Question for you guys. What size of a slow cooker should this fit into? I am planning on making this for some teachers during parent/teacher conferences. :)

  14. Karen

I made this for the teachers at my school and they ALL loved it. They were all planning on making it for upcoming holiday events. Me too! Thank you!

I think NON-coffee drinkers will really like this. In fact, my friend called this “pumpkin milk.” I LOVE coffee and prefer a stronger coffee flavor so I used about 8 cups of strongly brewed BOLD coffee (too strong to drink outside this recipe!) and 6 cups of milk. The coffee flavor was still mild (just like a latte) and I really enjoyed it.

This is really good. It makes a lot though! Just didn’t realize how much it made until I started adding the ingredients. Too much for 1 person. :) It is great coming from a crock pot though. I highly recommend using a bold dark roast coffee. Not just regular. Can’t taste the coffee in it with regular roast. This recipe is definitely for a party! If I make it again I will cut it in half.

    Breanna,
It should serve about 14 8 oz servings. It really depends on your cup size.

  19. Breanna

Do you know appr. how many this will serve?

Katerina, that shouldn’t be a problem! Your latte may just heat up a little more quickly…just make sure it doesn’t burn. :)

Wow! Wasn’t sure how this would come out but I am impressed. I made this yesterday evening after dinner. It is a delectable treat! Who knew that coffee based beverages could be made in a slow cooker? I applaud you ladies for pushing the boundaries and experimenting and for sharing your experiences with the world. I am trying the french dip sandwiches for the first time today. Hope it turns out well.
I also think that the “crockin girl” T-shirts you wear are adorable :)
