Ingredients

  • 1 (28 ounce) package of frozen cut green beans
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 (16 ounce) container Alfredo cheesy sauce
  • 6 ounce package of french fried onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Step One

    Combine green beans, onion, garlic, bell pepper, salt and pepper, Alfredo sauce, and ½ of the package of french fried onions to the slow cooker and mix well.

  2. Step Two

    Cook on high for 3-4 hours.

  3. Step Three

    Remove lid, and sprinkle with the remaining french fried onions.

  4. Step Four

    You may continue to cook for another hour or serve immediately, whichever you prefer.

    This is really good and a bit different from the standard green bean casserole…loved the bell pepper in it! I also added a 4 oz. can of mushrooms, drained and chopped.

    To say that this was a hit is an understatement. I have been making the usual green bean cassarole recipe with cream of chicken for YEARS. Made this with the Crockin Turkey recipe and got all kinds of approving noises from full mouths at the table. I was asked to always make this version from now on. BRAVO!
